9-24-03 Our 2003 season started a little later than normal after an accident at home hampered Jamie's ability to drive. Our season began on July 11, 2003. We had a few rough weeks getting used to driving a modified and all the different driving styles of the modified class. Towards the end of the year we started getting more successful. The last 7 out of the 10 races we were in we only had one finish out of the top 10. We ended the season with 10 races...3 Top 10's, 3 Top 5's, and one win. We saved our best finish for last. We were able to win the annual "King of the Can" race at Penn Can Speedway. It was a big win for our first modified feature win ever. Our plans for next year are up in the air at the moment. We aren't really sure what we will be racing yet. As soon as we finallize our plans the website will be updated with that information. 12-03-02 There have been many changes to our race team this past racing season. The 2002 season was another successful one for us. After a tough start we ended up winning the Penn Can Speedway Super Stock Track Championship for the second year in a row and third time in four years. We were second at Thunder Mountain Speedway and picked up The Most Popular Driver Award there for the second year in a row. One of the biggest changes this year (with the help of Tom McGurrin)was acquiring a Sportsman Modified ride with the BPG Racing Team and owner Chad Sinon. This took some getting used to and a lot of work for our crew. Racing two cars two nights a week takes a lot of time and dedication. My dad did a majority of the work this year. I want to thank him and the rest of my family and crew for all of their help this past racing season.
The upcoming 2003 Racing Season is going to be very exciting for all of us. We will be driving for Mr. Sinon again this year in the same car (2002X Bicknell) but in the premier modified division. This is going to be quite a challenge competing with some of the top dirt modified teams in Pennsylvania and New York state. I am looking to get my feet wet and concentrating on getting some consistent finishes this year. This will be a big learning experience for everyone on our team. Fortunately we have a few other race teams to count on for their experience and guidance.
The chassis is stripped down and ready to get some updates added then off to get sand blasted and powder coated. We will have a whole new team color this year. We will have pictures up as soon as the car is completed.
As always I want to thank our sponsors for the 2002 Racing Season. PS TRANSPORTATION, LENOX DAIRY BAR, LENOX PROPANE, CLIFFORD BEVERAGE, UNCLE JIMMY, TERRY CRANDALL'S BEAUTY SHOP, COMPTON'S CONSTRUCTION, PRECISION TRANSMISSION,TEPCO, AND PINE HURST AUTO BODY. I would especially like to thank Chad Sinon and the entire BPG Racing Team for their warm welcome and having the confidence in me to give me a chance to prove my driving abilities. HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON!!
6-13-02 It is almost mid-season for our 2002 racing season. It has been an up and down for the J1 Racing Team so far this year. We started off the season with a win up at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Unfortunately we have not been able to get back to victory lane there yet. At Penn Can Speedway we had a slow start due to various mechanical problems. As of late we have been doing much better with two wins in the last three races. We are working hard on some different combinations to get us back in victory lane at both tracks on a regular basis. Thanks to all of our fans and especially our 2002 sponsors. 2002 SPONSORS PS Transportation Lenox Dairy Bar Uncle Jimmy Lenox Propane Compton Construction Clifford Beverage Terry Crandall's Beauty Shop Precision Transmission TEPCO Pine Hurst Auto 2-19-02
THE J1 RACING TEAM MAKES LAST MINUTE PREPARATIONS FOR THE 2002 RACING SEASON
Over the winter we were honored at The Thunder Mountain Speedway banquet in November and the Penn Can Speedway banquet in January. They were both a lot of fun. At Thunder Mountain's banquet we recieved a very tall trophy for winning the point championship there along with another trophy almost as big for finishing second in the North-South Series Championship standings. I want to Thank Ernie Landers for sponsoring the trophy. We were also awarded Most Popular driver in the super stock class by the fans of Thunder Mountain. At Penn Can's banquet in January we were awarded a very nice trophy for winning the championship along with a plaque for most popular driver voted by the fans at Penn Can (THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO VOTED FOR ME!!) After a nice relaxing winter we are slowly getting our car back together and getting it ready for another successful season. We had the chassis sand blasted and painted by Bob Hacker and TEPCO Truck Repair and Painting. We are currently getting a new body put on it then we should be ready to go. We plan on defending our points championships at Thunder Mountain and Penn Can Speedway once again this year along with trying to capture the North-South Series Championship. It should be a fun year for us. We are looking forward to all of the challenges of trying to run a very full schedule for five months. We hope to see you all at the races!!!
November 9, 2001 After a career best 2001 season in the super/pro stock class we are making plans for the upcoming 2002 season. We are going to try and defend our championship at Penn Can and Thunder Mountain in the 2002 racing season. Our goals from last year were almost met. The one championship that eluded us for a variety of reasons was the North vs. South Series Championship. This will be one of our new goals for the upcoming year. As of right now we are making the annual racers flea market rounds. Just picking up some spare parts and trying to get another motor together for a backup. We are planning on making a new body and having the chassis repainted. We will go through the entire car making sure everything is straight and ready to go. We want to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season!!
